Today's quilts are tomorrows keepsakes

Today's quilts are tomorrows keepsakes

Up to my eyeballs.....

by Kathy Maulorico on 09/04/11

The ready made quilts went fast, and I have so many orders for the custom made personalized quilts, that I may never again in my life have the time to make a quilt just for the fun of making a quilt. I am blessed with success !  Just two months after two really huge delays, first my embroidery machine took it's final breath and I had to have one shipped in from Texas, which with the learning curve for the new machine and the down time created a two week delay, and then just two weeks later the software took a dive, and I had to purchase a new computer to get that one resolved, which took almost another two week delay, I'm working seven days a week to get caught up, I have also enlisted the help of my semi willing husband to help out by learning the embroidery machine, so he can embroider while I stitch the quilts together. I currently have five quilts going, and another 16 on order. YIKES!! I had better get back to work! Thanks for all of the kind words from my customers. Please remember to see all of the newest quilts I've made check out my etsy shop it is simply customquiltsbykathy. Here is a link http://www.etsy.com/shop/Customquiltsbykathy?ref=si_shop

 Thanks again everyone.

Up to my knees in snow!

by Kathy Maulorico on 02/06/11

Well all I can say is it's a good thing I have all of these baby quilts to help keep me warm. Southwest Missouri has only had one BLIZZARD on record and it was this week! Lots and Lots of snow and high wind's to boot.

Thanks to my etsy shop

http://www.etsy.com/shop/Customquiltsbykathy

I have been very busy with all of those special little quilts that I love to make.

I have not had time to update the blog or the photos on this website, but if you would like to see more pictures and order a quilt just follow the link to my etsy shop and check it out.

I have four ready made quilts, that are ready to ship today, if your looking for something that is ready to go. I have a "Hot Air Balloon" quilt, and a "Monsters Under my Bed" quilt - a super cute toddler quilt that is just yummy! It is called "Sweet Treats" and finally there is a sweet little "Dragons" quilt (which by the way won 2nd place at the Ozarks Empire Fair).

Don't forget you can email me anytime at

customquiltsbykathy@gmail.com

Thanks so much for taking the time to have a look at my quilts.

Merry Christmas to All

by Kathy Maulorico on 12/06/10

I truely hope that each and every one of you have a wonderful Holiday season. I have been so swamped that I am not anywhere near close to ready for Christmas this year myself.

I have added more ready made quilts to my etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/customquiltsbykathy  for those of you who can't wait to have one made. These quilts can not be personalized, but they are really adorable, cuddly soft and a perfect Christmas gift for that new baby on your list.

My new favorite fabric for Embroideries

by Kathy Maulorico on 11/06/10

I have found a new favorite fabric for stitching out my embroideries,Twill, it is just perfect, not to stretchy, and it is very sturdy fabric, and if you get the brushed twill it is so very soft perfect for baby quilts.

Now that I have gone all custom order,  both my website and my Etsy shop are doing very well, I think I'll be swamped at least until christmas. There are a few flakes out there sending me off to buy fabric and then not following through with the order, but really come on - how bad can it be shopping for fabric? That's my favorite part! You can never have to much fabric.

Please have a look at my Etsy shop at

(I have one ready made quilt for sale on Etsy "Sweet Treats")

Thanks for having a look at my quilts

Quilts for sale page

by Kathy Maulorico on 10/18/10

The good news is I have been very busy with special orders, the bad news is I haven't had time to keep any quilts ahead to put on the "Quilts for Sale" page, so I'm going to be deleting it for now, and if things slow down in the future I will recreate it. I am also going to be increasing the price of my quilts to start at $125.00 I know that may seem a little high to some, but after going to buy the fabric, laundering it, sketching out a design, cutting out the pieces, stitching out the embroideries, stitching it all together, layering it, quilting it and binding it, I only make a few dollars an hour. So the price goes up a little and you get a family treasure to last a lifetime.

Check out the new photos

by Kathy Maulorico on 09/28/10

Check out the new photos on the Photos page, I have been very busy, no time to even stop and post on the blog or put up new photos, I guess that's better than not having any business, either way I still sew all day every day. The quilts come quicker these days, practice makes perfect.

I now have any ETSY shop also, same quilts as the ones on my web site just a different venue, you have to get yourself out there in as many ways that you can.

Going all special order has made life much easier as ETSY won't allow you to have same items elswhere, but since it is all special order, the pics are all just examples. Perfect!

Hope your all enjoying the fall weather

Quilts for sale in Branson Missouri

by Kathy Maulorico on 09/12/10

I have found a shop in Branson Missouri (just up the road a piece) that is going to sell my quilts on consignment, so I will be taking all of the quilts that I have currently for sale on the "Quilts for Sale" page, and take them to her shop. I will still be listing new quilts for sale as I can, but mostly it will be on a special order basis.

Things are looking up as far as the web site goes so I may be holding onto it for a while.

Thanks for all of the nice comments and emails & and thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to have a look at my site.

Moving on

by Kathy Maulorico on 08/28/10

I started my website in January of this year, I did all of the design work my self (not bad for a novice) I had never even heard of "meta tags" or "web crawling" or "SEO" before, but now I know a little about all of the lingo and have managed to get myself on the first page of Google when a search is done for "custom baby quilts" (again not bad for a novice) but still not very many orders from my website..

Thanks to www.bunnycup.com I have had a steady stream of visitors, but most of you are sewers yourselves, so again not many orders I am now on www.etsy.com and my shop is customquiltsbykathy I will continue to list all of my quilts on my web site and also on Etsy.

I'm told that it takes a full year to get a business off the ground, so I will let my site go until January and then I will let it go (if you know what I mean).

If you like my work or think you may need a quilt in the future please take down my email address customquiltsbykathy@gmail.com this is different than the one on my website, when the website goes so does that email address.

Thanks to all of you for looking and please keep me in mind if you need a special baby quilt or a wonderful lap quilt for grandma. I have a very high quality product, the testimonials on the home page are real customers of mine, as a matter of fact I have never had a dissatisfied customer.

I guess I'm making it sound like I'm signing off now but as I said I will give it until January.

Have a great weekend!
